Copies of manuscripts found among the writings of Deacon Daniel Goodrich after his death. ca. 1855.

"The first part of this book is copied mostly from manuscripts found among the writings of Deacon Daniel Goodrich, Senr., after his decease." Contains copies of letters written in the 18th century by Shaker founders, remembrances of addresses concerning the correct Shaker way of life, and recollections of 18th and early 19th century Shaker history. While the manuscript has been entered under Goodrich's name, many other persons were actually responsible for its intellectual content. A bookmark, a blue silk ribbon, to which is attached perforated cardstock with the word Praise cross-stitched on it, is laid inside the back cover.
